Q. How can the donuts taste so good when they are both gluten free and vegan?

A. It’s a secret, if we told you we’d have to kill you.

Q. Are they good for you?

A. Nope. But they’ll make you feel happy!

Q. Do you only make donuts with the donut mix??

A. Nope – so far we’ve made muffins, pancakes, waffles, roulade, cakes. We’ve added stewed apple, mashed banana, cacao chips, coconut chips, blueberries, raspberries, custard, syrups and our own infused sugars directly in to the mix. But we are seriously lacking in imagination – you’ll have fun creating your own yummy treats (please tell us how this goes).

Q. How many donuts does the 1kg bag make?

A. It depends on the size of the donut – ha ha. Rough estimate is about 100 donut holes, about 40 regular sized donuts. 

Q. With the 1kg make at home mix, do you have to use it all at once?

A. No, you can reseal the bag, just adjust the quantity of water you add to the mix to the right proportion (e.g. if you only use 1/4 of the mix, reduce the volume of water to 1/4.

Q. I don’t have a donut dispenser or deep fryer – will the mix still work?

A. Yes. If you choose to fry, you can do so in a fry pan. You don’t have to make circular shapes, you can make churros with a piping bag or just dollop to make donut holes. You can also bake in the oven – use a mini muffin tray, best lined with baking paper. 

Q. Where can I buy a donut dispenser?

A. Most good kitchen shops have them, we’ve found the metal type better. You can also get them online.

Q. What are the main ingredients in the donut mix?

A. Soy flour and maize starch, sugar and vegetable oil.

Q. What are the main ingredients in the sugar mix?

A. Whole fruit, vegetables and spices which have been dehydrated and ground and infused with natural sugar.
